Preparation Method

Step 1: Make the Burger Mixture

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, cooked lentils, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and egg.
  2. Mix gently until ingredients are evenly incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.

Step 2: Cook the Burgers

  1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C / 165°F).
  3. If using a grill, cook for the same amount of time, flipping once.

Step 3: Prepare the Greek Salad

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, red bell pepper, and Kalamata olives.
  2. Sprinkle with crumbled feta and chopped oregano.
  3. Drizzle olive oil and red wine vinegar over the salad and season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Toss gently to combine.

Step 4: Assemble and Serve

  1. If using buns, lightly toast them.
  2. Place lettuce on the bottom bun, add a lamb and lentil patty, and top with tzatziki if using.
  3. Serve the burger alongside a generous portion of Greek salad.
  4. Garnish with lemon wedges for added brightness.
